Cosmos
While in Musandam in the far north of Oman I was delighted to be able to visit the newly opened Khasab Fort. Imaginatively refurbished it includes discrete wooden coverings for electrical power sockets and a very practical disabled access slope reminiscent of the stairs in the marvelous Great Court in the British Museum.

By a quirk of fate I was in Salalah when Muscat was flooded by heavy rains and though the north has great honey - we decided to go Honey hunting in the south.
Following little used paths we walked up the slopes of the Dhofar Mountains - good cloud cover made the weather much cooler and it was a very nice walk. Along the route we followed old camel trails and it seems wild animals also do - as we saw tracks and spores to add interest . http://blog.omanholiday.co.uk/blog/Photos/_archives/2007/4/4/2857219.html. Not only were we able to find some honey but it met with a seal of approval from a real honey aficionado .
