The Oman Auditorium in Al Bustan Place was the setting for an evening of an Omani produced musical review of the Arab history of the Oud (which was the ancestor of Europe’s Lute) from the Oud Hobbyists of Oman.

The Ouds legendary history stretches back to one of Adam and Eves 6th generation descendents. It was first depicted in Mesopotamia during the period when, co-incidentally, the civilization of Majan located in today’s modern Oman started trading with it.

Legendary performers were depicted in the evening, the most enthusiastically received being Mohammed Abdel Wahab accompanied by Umm Kulthum .
