With an agility of a smaller vessel, the Oman Ferry ‘Shinas’ practically leapt out of Port Sultan Qaboos near Muscat . I was aboard the Shinas not on its intended route to Musandam but for an evening excursion in the Muscat region . I learnt from the sales team of the company which operates the ship that the Oman government intends to have 5 of these vessels.

Oman Air catering and cabin crew provided a very enjoyable Ramadhan buffet, which we ate as the ship floated off the coast of Muscat. Eventually services down to Salalah are expected to be included in a regular schedule as well as up to Musandam.
